The website

If you accept it in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to see how the website is used, for example which pages are read and on what kinds of devices. Google Analytics then sets cookies (_ga and _ga_…) and sends the details of your visit to Google. Google's advertising features (Google Signals and ad personalisation) are switched off. Legal basis: your consent.

If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and no such cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page; if you withdraw your consent, we remove the Google Analytics cookies.

If you use “Near me”, your location stays in your browser – it is never sent to us or stored. Your choice of light or dark theme and your cookie choice are stored only in your browser.

The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting and loads incidents from Google Firestore in the EU. Maps come from OpenFreeMap. As with any visit on the internet, these services see your IP address.

The app

The app has no accounts and no SDK for analytics or crash reports. Crash information reaches us only through Apple and Google, and only if you have allowed it on your device.

Incidents and maps

The app loads incidents from Blåljuslistan's open feeds on Google Firebase (Firestore in the EU, region europe-north1) and maps from OpenFreeMap. As with any request on the internet, these services see your device's IP address. The app does not connect directly to the Swedish Police, SMHI or the Swedish Transport Administration.

What stays on your device

Language, theme and filters, the most recently downloaded incidents, and the names and exact positions of your places in Place alerts are stored only on your device. They are not sent anywhere.

Near me

The app asks only for your approximate location, and only while the app is open. The location stays on your device – it is not sent or stored.

Blåljuslistan Plus

Plus is a subscription you buy in the App Store or on Google Play. We never see your payment details. The subscription is subject to Apple's and Google's terms, and you cancel it in the store.

Place alerts (part of Plus)

Place alerts sends notifications about incidents near places you have saved. To do this, we store the following on our server at Google Firebase in the EU (Firestore in europe-north1, Cloud Functions in europe-west1):

Addresses, place names and exact positions are never sent. The data is used only to send the notifications. Legal basis: performance of the subscription contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

The data is deleted when you remove your places, when the app has been uninstalled and its Firebase installation ID stops working, and three days after the subscription has ended.

Ads (free version only)

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. When Google shows ads, it processes data such as device information, IP address, your interactions with the ads and (on Android) the advertising ID. On iPhone the app does not ask for permission to track you.

In the EEA and the UK the app shows Google's consent form (UMP, IAB TCF) the second time you open it. If you don't consent, you see non-personalised ads. You can change your choice in the app under More → Ad choices.

Plus subscribers see no ads. How Google uses the data: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Service providers

We use Google (Firebase, AdMob and, on the website, Google Analytics), Apple and Google (app stores and notifications) and OpenFreeMap (maps). Google may transfer data to countries outside the EU (USA). Such transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, and to object to its processing. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.

Because the app has no accounts, we cannot link the data in the app to you as a person. You delete your Place alerts data yourself by removing your places in the app. For other questions, email support@blaljuslistan.se.
